What is the Egyptian Book of the Dead?
The Egyptian Book of the Dead, or as the ancient Egyptians knew it, "The Book of Coming into Light," served as a profound spiritual resource. These sacred manuscripts were not only texts; they were prayer books meticulously crafted to prepare both the departed and those who remained for the journey that lay beyond this earthly realm.
In ancient Egypt, you could go to the store of a scribe where a customer could choose from thousands of prayers to include in their Book of the Dead/Book of Coming into the Light.
These manuscripts unveiled a deeper truth: the fundamental connection between our existence and the universe's consciousness. Whether we inhabit the physical plane or traverse the astral afterlife, we are essentially vessels of light, intricately connected to the universe's cosmic fabric.
Who are the Neteru?
In preparing one’s Book of the Dead, you also connect with your own deities or Neteru. According to Ancient Egyptians, the Neteru represent the divine principles of the natural and cosmological realms. They encompass not only the Gods, Goddesses, and deities of Ancient Kemet/Egypt, but also the cosmic forces of creation.
