The Synchronicities of Myth and Consciousness: A Course Exploring Connections Between the Works of Joseph Campbell, Carl Jung, and Consciousness Studies.

Did you ever have a dream or see a needed change but doubted you would be able to achieve the dream or make a change that would help others? Then, you gave up because you didn’t know how to start?
So, you went back to your ‘Field of Known’ as Joseph Cambell would say. Does that goal or change you saw still haunt you?

Joseph Campbell mapped worldwide hero myths that described what it takes to make cultural shifts. Those that set out to do so against the odds of succeeding and got to the other side…the side he called ‘The Field of Miracles’… were heroes. This is how humanity evolves!

This course follows his map. Join us as we follow in his footsteps and explore the ‘inner work’ needed to achieve the goal.

Synchronicities of Myth & Consciousness will explore the connections between Joseph Cambell’s Hero’s Journey, Carl Jung’s Synchronicity & David Bohm’s Wholeness and the Implicate Order. The ‘inner journey’ behind the myth to pass beyond the gates of the ' Field of Known' to reach the ‘Field of Miracles’ will be discussed in depth. The Quantum Mechanics of how it all fits together is the ‘glue’ that gives it all validity and meaning.

Course Topics:

SYNCRONICITIES of MYTH & CONSCIOUSNESS:
Exploring Connections of Works between Joseph Campbell & Carl Jung

  • WEEK ONE: Introduces Joseph Campbel, Carl Jung & David Bohm, who they were as men and their quests. Course definitions discussion: Consciousness, the Collective Unconscious, Archetypes, the Hero’s Journey myth, ego, shadow, reality & non-ordinary experience, David Bohm’s Implicate Order, de Chardine’s Teleology & Teleological Synchronicity. Note: These concepts will repeat as they intertwine throughout the course. We will introduce ourselves and each offer a brief personal interest and focus to be here together. Each of you will have a desired destination; I will be your guide to reach it with the skills and knowledge I have obtained and within the parameters of the course. Communication is key. Pauses for Q&As will occur within each class, as needed. We will work alone-together. Journaling, including dreams, is critical to the outcome of your inner journey through the course.

  • WEEK TWO: Outlines Joseph Campbell’s map of the Hero’s Journey throughout myths around the world. The stages of the Inner-reaches of the Hero’s Journey will be discussed in depth, including basic concepts of individuation & authenticity and an exploration of ego mirror reflection & shadow mining. Each week’s class will begin with sharing the ‘Ah Ha!s of your understanding and experience of the previous week’s content. You will be given a Jungian based opportunity to glimpse some of the ‘givens’ you came into the world with that initially shaped who you are. The portraits identified will be discussed as your possible style on the hero’s journey.

  • WEEK THREE: Focuses on the ‘inner-flack’ of belief barriers, body-mind reactions, and cultural conditioning while on the ‘Inner-Hero’s Journey’. We will discuss basic assumptions or core beliefs and explore how to identify those that get in your way, plus Avatar skills to nullify their effect. The power of passion (bliss), intent, commitment, and ‘Grit’ to achieve the goal and move to the next stage. The employment of ‘heart-mind’ thinking and being Present to smooth our way.
  • WEEK FOUR: Explores the Ultimate Goal of the Hero’s Journey: Cultural Change. What will you bring back from your journey to the benefit of others? We will discuss de Chardine’s concept of Teleology & mine of Teleological Synchronicity. Backed by Carl Jung, where do these fit when Joseph Campbell’s ‘Field of Miracles’ stage opens? Be prepared to discuss topics of your choice. For example: Pick a personal interest bias from the many: gender, race, sexual orientation, elder, etc. Or, human trafficking, societal disproportionate wealth, politician privilege, prison reform, media manipulation, etc. Or, how about future cultural change, such as egalitarianism? Want to reach further? Try applying de Chardine’s teleology to human development, like androgyny, or?

  • WEEK FIVE: Applies non-ordinary or para-normal experiences to that often highlight the ‘Field of Miracles’ stage. This will include Jung’s concepts of Synchronicity, and unconscious guidance from ‘Big Dreams’. Be prepared to share a Big Dream from your journal. We will discuss Jungian dream interpretation, NDEs & trans-personal awareness with or without having direct experience.

  • WEEK SIX:

Assembles the stages, concepts, and key elements of Joseph Campbell’s Inner-Hero’s Journey. Exploration of a possible Spiritual Path on completion of the Inner-Hero’s Journey follows, including concepts of: The Self, Higher Consciousness, Awakening & how to Stay Awake, Bohm’s ‘Super-implicate Order’, At Onement & Ra’s ‘Law of One’. Messages on the ‘Search for Unity’. We will share ‘What did you see, realize, as you traveled the route of Joseph Campbell’s Inner-Hero’s Journey?’ What stood out? What was missing? And, finally, a warm goodbye.
