Goddess Medicine: An Alchemical Reunion with the Earth reveals the faces of the Earth Goddesses of the Western world — beings who have spent millennia hiding behind the robes of patriarchy, their rites fragmented, renamed, or buried inside myths we were taught not to read too closely.

This course is an invitation to listen again.

Before books, there was the Earth.

Long before knowledge was separated from the body, people learned how to live by listening to the land.

They learned through dream rites, ritual offerings, poetry and myth, and through plants — not as resources, but as living intelligences honored as our first teachers.

This course will guide you through:

• Intimate kinship with eight plant spirits, and the faces and phases of the Goddess they carry
• The old rites and myths of the Goddess, and the oracular ways of listening to the Earth
• Rituals and folk alchemical healing practices for embodying the face of the Goddess you and your land are calling for
• Poetic ways of restoring balance and beauty to our villages and ecosystems
• A heart-centered initiatory community, tending a more beautiful world—seven generations forward and seven generations behind

MEET CRYSTAL WOODLING

Crystal Woodling is a lineage Appalachian witch, clinical herbalist, Hellenistic astrologer, yogini, poet, and former literature professor.

She was born and raised in Appalachia, in landscapes shaped by both deep beauty and deep extraction. Growing up in coal country—where the wounds of land and people are inseparable—formed the roots of her life’s work and her lifelong inquiry into how cultures learn to live in relationship with the Earth.

Crystal has over twenty years of somatic and yogic study, eighteen years of herbal medicine practice, and more than a decade of committed ceremonial study with indigenous and folk medicine carriers. Her path bridges scholarship and lived transmission, holding ancient texts alongside oral tradition, ritual practice, and direct relationship with land and plant intelligence.

She has guided hundreds of students and clients in healing chronic illness, reclaiming embodied knowing, and remembering how to live in right relationship with the living world. Her teachings are known for their depth, clarity, and grounded devotion.

Crystal teaches full-time and co-directs The School of Heaven and Earth with her husband, Matthew Merlin, continuing to pass on the old ways of listening through story, ritual, and communion with the Earth.
