The Art of Becoming weaves healing and art through visual rituals designed to support personal transformation and meaningful change.
Inspired by the work of Alejandro Jodorowsky, it draws upon the power of creative acts charged with symbolism, using imagination, embodiment, and artistic expression as tools for healing and renewal.
Rooted in the understanding that symbolic action can help shift deeply ingrained patterns, the experience invites participants to engage with their personal stories in new ways.
Through cinematography, storytelling, ritual, and connection with the natural world and others, inner experiences are transformed into visible expressions of growth, resilience, and possibility.
This is more than a photoshoot.
More than a film.
More than a ritual.
It is a guided process of transforming an inner experience into a living visual symbol that can be seen, felt, and remembered.
Through image, story, symbolism, and embodiment, participants create an expression of a personal threshold, healing journey, or becoming.
These individual visual rituals are then woven together into a collective short film directed and edited by Julie Romano—an artistic offering created not only for personal transformation, but also in service to the healing and transformation of others.
At its core, the experience recognizes that individual healing and collective healing are deeply intertwined. By tending to personal transformation, participants contribute to a broader culture of healing, connection, and belonging.
Art becomes both a mirror and a bridge, revealing what is ready to be released, celebrated, or reclaimed, while weaving personal healing into the larger story of collective renewal.

1. Opening Circle: Identifying the Threshold & Shaping the Ritual
VIRTUAL - Thursday, July 30, 2026, 12PM - 2PM PT
In our opening circle, we gather as a creative and healing community to explore the stories, patterns, life transitions, or thresholds calling for transformation. Through reflection, discussion, ritual inquiry, and shared witnessing, participants begin clarifying what is ready to shift and how it might be expressed through image, symbolism, and visual ritual.
Following the call, participants will receive personalized preparation guidance from Julie and Isis, along with access to a dedicated WhatsApp group for connection, support, and questions throughout the journey. Together, we begin envisioning the collective film we will create.
2. The Art of Becoming Experience: Creating the Film
IN-PERSON IN NEVADA CITY, CA -Saturday, 9/5/26 - 2.5 hours, exact time TBD
Gathering in person in Nevada City, CA, participants step into their visual rituals and take part in a collaborative filmmaking experience guided by Julie and Isis. As Julie films and creatively directs the process, individual acts of transformation are woven into a larger artistic offering. Through symbolism, embodiment, beauty, and ritual, together we create a film exploring healing, becoming, and the stories that connect us.
3. Integration & Witnessing
VIRTUAL - Saturday, September 19, 2026, 10AM - 12PM PT
In our integration circle, we reflect on what emerged through the creative process and the experience of offering our stories in service to something larger. Together, we explore the insights, thresholds, and transformations that have unfolded, and how the ritual may continue to inform our journey of becoming.
4. Film Premiere & Closing Circle
VIRTUAL - 30 Minutes - Date TBD (within one month of the Integration Call)
Participants will gather online to view the completed film together for the first time and celebrate the collective artwork that emerged through the journey. This final gathering offers an opportunity to witness the film as a community, reflect on its impact, and honor the healing, beauty, and transformation woven into the experience.
MEET JULIE ROMANO
Julie Romano is a visual artist and filmmaker whose work spans cinematic storytelling, photography, and healing arts. Her practice explores presence, transformation, and relational connection through image-making that bridges personal narrative and collective experience. Working with both still and moving images, she creates intimate visual stories that emphasize emotional resonance, embodiment, and the subtle dialogue between people, place, and memory. Her work is informed by the landscapes and creative ecosystems she inhabits, with a focus on amplifying grounded, authentic stories that reflect lived experience, creativity, and resilience.
For years, Julie has helped people translate life transitions, healing journeys, and personal transformation into powerful visual stories that can be seen, felt, and remembered.
MEET ISIS INDRIYA
As a minister, culture creator, bridgebuilder, and fireplace keeper for the Oracle Clan, an educator of ritual, ritual theater, divination, Egyptian cosmology, and Hermeticism, Isis shares what she has learned along the way all over the world, online through the school she birthed: Academy of Oracle Arts. Most of her teachings come together in her year-long apprenticeship program in Oracle Arts. She also leads pilgrimages to Egypt and in her temple hosts community prayers and gatherings.
